Hi everyone! So sorry that I haven't posted in a while, but I've been doing my year 10 mocks at school, so I was none stop revising for about a month.
So today I thought I would write about something I don't think gets talked about enough. Basically, when I watch youtubers talk about skincare, I always feel as though they miss out actual makeup removal. Like when I look at blogs, I always feel as though they mention cleansing, exfoliating, moisturizers etc, but I continually feel as though makeup removal is never talked about-particularly at a good price. I mean we can't all afford to be buying the Liz Earle, origins or the Emma Hardie cleansing balms.
NSPA hot cloth polish is (in essence) the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser. It comes with a muslin cloth and is applied in a thick, cream consistency all over the face (no need to avoid the eyes-it gets rid of eye makeup too!), and finally wash the product and your makeup off with a damp muslin cloth. You can purchase this at ASDA for a morning or evening thorough cleanse!
The Botanics eye makeup remover is a great way to remove your mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow etc. You simply apply to a cotton pad and sweep over the lids to take off your eye makeup. I tend to use this product if I have a large amount of eye makeup or if I want to remove my makeup before I work a face wash in to the rest of my face.
Again from Botanics, the gentle cleansing cream is squeezed on to a cotton pad and massaged in to the skin in circular motions before washing it off with warm water. Although I haven't tried it, you probably could use this as an eye makeup remover as well as the word 'gentle' is advertised-as well as the brand being Botanics and well-known for its more calming skincare.
Simple is also a brand which is great for sensitive skin. The moisturizing face wash is very good for not only keeping your skin nourished, but also can be used for makeup removal. I wouldn't recommend it as an eye makeup remover, however.... in a time of need I have previously used it to remover eye makeup and it did do the job! It has a gel-type consistency which can be literally dolloped on to your hands and worked all over the face, eventually turning in to a thinner consistency and breaking down your makeup.
Micellar water is fab for both eye makeup and base makeup as acts as gently as actual water! I've been trying out the L'oreal one at the moment, which is alright.... (not too happy hehe). I'm not a fan of the slight scent to it, and it also tends to spill out when you attempt applying it to a cotton pad. However, I would recommend the Garnier Micellar water and the Nivea one is also very very good too!
Stereo typically face wipes are perfect in a quick fix for taking off makeup. I don't to use them daily, however in a hurry or if I really cannot be bothered to do a full cleanse, face wipes seem to be the easier option. I would 100% advise you to purchase the P.S. Love deep facial cleansing wipes (or just any of them in general!). They're 2 in a pack for one pound which is incredible and each type of these face wipes do exactly what they say on the label whilst giving good clear makeup removal.
