My top Autumn and Winter Lip Products

Spring has sprung and summer has gone-this year has gone by so quickly!
Autumn and winter are my favourite times of year. I tend to prefer Autumn, but I love the fact that Christmas falls in Winter. So seeing how my overall favourite season is Autumn, I thought I would talk you through some of my top picks for my favourite thing about this transitional time...lipsticks!
I think that if Autumn isn't the perfect time to experiment with a darker lip, then why is? Especially seeing how Halloween is just round the corner, I think to try out an eye-catching red, or an Autumnal purple will be a fab choice to make.
Personally, I love dark lipsticks as I think it whitens teeth, makes my haircut and colour look more expensive, and most importantly stops me from looking like a four year-old (which is a difficult task seeing how I am so tiny)
Dark Autumnal colours are the perfect transitional piece, and the perfect way to make your summer basic turn to Autumn basics. So if you take a pair of skinnies and a white plain top/shirt, by changing from a summery orange, to a deep red, your outfit is suddenly much more sophisticated and perfect for autumn time.

This is the first of the seven lip products I am going to recommend. I've tried to choose a range of formulas and colours to give you a wide variety.
This first one is a Fearne Cotton lip crayon. I don't think that this has a name, but I got this in a set of four along with a bright pink, a baby pink and a vibrant red. I got this set for Christmas last year, and this colour has been my perfect purple ever since. Now to some of you that have never tried a darker or deeper colour, this may be a little scary. But trust me, this time last year I was rarely even wearing any lip colours, let alone as darker colour as this. This has been the colour that has started my obsession with dark lip products, and I am extremely grateful for it.
As with most lip crayons, the formulation of this is quite drying, but also as with it being a lip crayon, it stays put! This is such a long-lasting colour and although I would advise a lip balm or gloss over the top to nourish your lips, this colour is such a perfect colour for the upcoming seasons.

And a good gloss to put on top of this lip crayon, is this seventeen lip gloss. I actually got this in another set of six for Christmas last year so again it wasn't named and I'm not currently aware of the price. But as seventeen is quite a cheapish brand here in the UK, I doubt it would've been too pricey. As for the colour, it is a purply toned pink, with lots of silver shimmer running through. I adore this colour! I hadn't really tried it out much before, but I found it in the depths of my makeup collection a week ago, and I have loved it since. It is a reasonable colour match to the Fearne Cotton lip crayon, yet it also had such a buttery feel to the lips.
Even just as a simple wash of colour to the lips, this lip gloss is gorgeous, especially if you want an Autumnal tint, but you don't want to go all out with a vampy purple shade.

Next is an, as you can see, extremly loved lip gloss. This is an Estee Lauder duo ended lipgloss. I use this ALOT!! One end is a peachy natural wash of colour, and the other end is a more plum-toned shimmery gloss. Both colours look lovely and I especially love to whip out this oldy-but-goody, in the Winter time as I find it is quite cool toned and perfect for everyday.

This is a reasonably new purchase for me. It is the ever so hyped-up Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107. It is a dark red vampy shade-perfect for this time of year! I got this during the summer holidays and I have worn it around four times since then, which is alot for me, as I tend to wear a completely different colour every day! I originally bought this because of the recommendations I had read online. It is a matte formula, which I am usually not a fan of, but in this case I love it as it still nourishes and moisturises the lips! I had never dipped my toe in the matte colours before (ones that I was going to wear regularly anyway), so this was a huge change for me. But I absolutely love this colour. I wear red lipstick a ton and it is a perfect mid toned deep red. It makes your teeth look very white and for five founds fiftyish, it is hardly braking the bank if you turn out not to be a fan. I actually can't wait to get in to Autumn and wear this colour non stop!

The next of these gems is an absolute bargain! I was wondering through superdrug in February when I glanced over at the MakeUp Academy section. The only thing that I had ever purchased from MUA was a single eyeshadow and that was mainly because it was on buy two get one free. I was with my friends and one of them picked up a pillar box red and said 'Oh, this is such an Em colour', but it was the colour next to it that caught my eye. It was what I thought then was an extremly dark purple, and so I thought I would take a look. With one swatch, I had fallen in love with the colour, and instantly purchased it. I adore this colour, it actually isn't as dark as I first thought, but it is still a lovely Autumnal colour. It's a deep purple with pinky undertones and is actually extremly easy to wear. It has a sheeny formula, so it does have a tendancy to smudge a bit and also isn't that long lasting; but for one pound; I really cannot complain!

This next one is a more everyday colour. This is my everyday colour for all year round, but I especially love it for Autumn-Winter as it is quite cool toned. This muted peachy pink is Natural Collection's 'Pink Mallow'. I adore almost everything about this lipstick, apart from the slightly cheap looking packaging. As I mentioned earlier, I wear a new lipstick everyday, and I only discovered this beauty last year in boots, yet I'm already on my second bullet. It takes me years before I finish a lipstick, but I go through this one extremly easily as I use it more than I use any other lip product. It is one of my perfect nudes. Not too nude that you look like you haven't got any lips; but not so pink that it is no longer a nude. It is easy to apply, quite reasonably pigmanted, and it glides on the lips with a moisturising buttery texture.

My seventh and final lip product is a purchase I made two days before Christmas. I had been obsessed with Becca Rose (go and check out her blog/channel-she is amazing), and around Chistmas time in 2013, Becca was sporting a dark bold lip. Now I was tempted to buy her exact one which was the topshop lip bullet in 'Wine Gum', but I ventured in to boots and I passed Collection 2000, and noticed this stunning colour. Now it is a dark, but definitly not as dark as the Kate Moss one, red. It is bold but also deeper than your typical pillar box ered. The formula for this is lovely as it is moisturising but quite reasonably longwearing. I love this lipstick and because it is my perfect Christmas red, I cannot wait for Winter to sport this gorgeous shade.
